Delicious Brazilian Cheesy Bread Recipe -( Pão De Queijo )

Brazilian Cheesy bread

Brazilian cheesy bread is also known as pão de queijo, and is a popular snack in Brazil. It is gluten-free, as it is made with tapioca flour instead of wheat flour thereby making it more suitable for people with celiac disease or allergic to gluten.

The origin of Brazilian cheesy bread is believed to have been originated from the African slaves who worked in the mines and plantations of Minas Gerais sometime in the 18th century. They used cassava root (also known as manioc or yuca) to make flour and cheese from the milk of their cows. They mixed these ingredients to make a simple, yet filling bread that would sustain them during the hard labor they endured. The recipe spread throughout Brazil over time, and became a national treat.
