Recipe Of Wolfgang Puck Scalloped Potatoes: A Creamy Delight

Wolfgang Puck Scalloped Potatoes is a classic comfort dish with creamy layers of potatoes, cheddar, ham, and aromatic rosemary. It’s a flavorful treat that’s perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients To Make Wolfgang Puck Scalloped Potatoes:

  • 10 potatoes
  • 3 quarts chicken broth
  • 1 brick or package of cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup ham
  • 1 bunch parsley & thyme
  • 1/2 stick unsalted butter
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 2 eggs

Instructions To Make Wolfgang Puck Scalloped Potatoes:

  1. Begin by preheating your oven to 415°F. It’s essential to have it nice and hot for the perfect scalloped potatoes.
  2. Generously Butter your cooking dish. This will prevent the potatoes from sticking and adds a delightful buttery flavor to them.
  3. Peel and wash the potatoes thoroughly. Then, thinly slice them. The thin slices will create the savory  layers in your dish. If you have a potato slicer, this can work more efficiently.
  4. Then place a layer of the sliced potatoes at the bottom of your dish. This will create the foundation of your scalloped potatoes.
  5. Now add the layers of ingredients. Sprinkle some cheddar cheese, ham and freshly chopped thyme. These ingredients bring forth a savory blend of creaminess, as well as saltiness, and flavor.
  6. Continue layering the dish. Add yet another layer of the sliced potatoes, then repeat with the  cheddar, ham, and fresh thyme. Keep layering until you’ve run out of all your ingredients.
  7. Top off the dish with the cheddar cheese. This adds a beautiful golden-brown crust when baked.
  8. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs and chicken broth together. This will add an extra creaminess and flavor to your scalloped potatoes.
  9. Gently pour the egg and chicken broth mixture over the layered potatoes. Make sure that you pour it evenly throughout.
  10. Now It’s time to put your creation into the oven and bake. Reduce the oven temperature to 350°F. Let it bake for about 2 hours or until the top layer of cheddar is beautifully browned, and the potatoes are nice and tender.
  11. Once you take it out of the oven, sprinkle the top with parsley and your Wolfgang Puck Scalloped Potatoes are ready to serve. The combination of creamy potatoes, melted cheese, savory ham, and aromatic thyme and parsley will delight your taste buds.

This recipe is loaded with fresh thyme, cheddar cheese and an amazing cream sauce. It’s all layered with thinly sliced tender russet potatoes. I top the potatoes with extra shredded cheddar cheese and bake until golden brown on top. ( Alternatively, you can use mozzarella in place of cheddar, and garlic and rosemary in place of thyme. )

Wolfgang Puck Scalloped Potatoes is a classic dish that brings joy to any meal. The layers of the flavor  make it a favorite many. So gather your ingredients, and treat yourself to this dish that celebrates the art of good cooking.
